Makeen Tower is a contemporary hospitality landmark that redefines vertical architecture in Riyadh. Rooted in Salmani identity and executed through modern architectural language, the project balances cultural expression, urban presence, and refined materiality to create a timeless skyline icon.

Design Philosophy

The façade combines Riyadh stone, GRC elements, and low-reflective glazing to create a balanced dialogue between solidity and transparency. Earth-toned materials reference traditional Saudi villages, while contemporary detailing ensures durability and performance.

The solid-to-void ratio is carefully calibrated to meet regulations while optimizing daylight, views, and thermal comfort.

Biophilic principles are embedded throughout the design, enhancing user well-being and environmental performance. Shading devices, façade depth, and greenery contribute to thermal comfort, reduced glare, and improved microclimate conditions.

Mechanical equipment is discreetly screened through architectural louvers, preserving skyline quality and visual integrity.

Landscape Design

Landscape design plays a key role in reinforcing the project’s identity and environmental strategy. In alignment with the Green Riyadh Program, greenery is integrated both at ground level and within the building through planted terraces and climbers.

Service floors incorporate potted greenery for ease of maintenance, while the ground floor features lush planting to emphasize the entrance and soften the urban edge.
